Latest Updates from Our Project:
Sorry for the spam....

So in super-fun Tuesday-is-Monday news...
Alan goofed and uploaded the interior file for our POD content instead of the actual PDF file with bookmarks, the cover, and more.
Sorry. :(
The file is still the correct content, but there's no cover images, no book marks, it's huge, and the aspect ration will be slightly off due to bleeds.
We'll get the right file up as soon as possible. We'll just update the current link you have, so that link will still be valid and you can get the file now and it'll be automatically updated for you in DriveThru as soon as we can.
The layout designer is working on the right file now, so we're hoping to have it for you tomorrow (maybe later tonight)!
Sorry, but enjoy reading the full game!
End of December Update! + Important BackerKit
almost 9 years ago
– Fri, Dec 29, 2017 at 06:18:49 PM
Hello!
First, an urgent BackerKit update.
Next Friday (January 5th, 2018), we will be closing and charging the BackerKit. Please ensure your card, address and order information is locked in and up to date.
Ok! So, let's go over the various pieces of the project and their status
Tiny Dungeon 2e
Tiny Dungeon 2e will be out in PDF next week (maybe as early as today, but more likely early next week.) We gave Robert (our layout artist) the final feedback yesterday, and he said it'd be fast to wrap in.
Tiny Frontiers: Revised
Work continues. The rules have been handed off to the editor. Also want a work in progress of the cover?

Bestiary Deck

Art: Done!
Layout: Prepped for editing then layout.
The App
More revisions done on the app. This should finish quickly once we get out of the holidays.
The Dice Bags
The first third of the dicebags are done! The rest continue apace.
Tiny Dungeon: Hatchling Edition
Writing: Alana has assembled her team, and they've begun!
Art: Alana has begun requesting work from her artists!
At this juncture we're on track to receive the core elements of Wave 1 in time to meet our February delivery goals. However, it's likely fulfillment will slip into early March (we'll do our best to avoid that though.)
Some folks had questions about various parts of the rulebook we posted last week. Due to feedback, we've clarified several parts of the rulebook (specifically around Brawler, Martial Artist, and other traits.)
However, one of the questions was around Critical Hits and Critical Fumbles, and the feeling that a character with Disadvantage enjoyed a proportionally higher chance of a Critical Hit (needing only 1 die to roll a "6", which is a ~16% chance.)
That is true. However, there are some factors to consider:
One must be using a Mastered Weapon for a Critical Hit. Due to the rules, if you're using a Mastered Weapon, you enjoy either 3d6 on attacks, or 1d6 (either Advantage or Disadvantage. It's binary at that point.) It's true that if you are using your Mastered Weapon with something that gives Disadvantage (say the Berserker trait), you have a higher chance of a Crit than with Advantage.
The same percentage chance applies to a Critical Fumble though if you have Disadvantage. (~16%).
So a character, with their Mastered weapon in a situation which grants Disadvantage, has a roughly 16% chance of having that weapon miss and break (get dropped, etc.), thereby removing their ability to have a Critical Hit in the future, or they have the same chance of a Critical Hit.
The dichotomy of being more likely to score a Critical Hit under Disadvantage might feel strange, but we liked that option because we felt it enforced a cinematic feeling of desperation. A Disadvantageous situation that results in a better effort is a cool feeling, and we feel the Critical Hit rule scratches that itch for us.
Thanks everyone!
